weekly reflection

throughout this project, I've realized I needed to have an end product, and for this it would be difficult. so my end product is this, the knowledge to know exactly what id have to do to live out my boring dream. at the beginning of this project people would ask me what I wanted to do when im older and out of school, jokingly id answer with an antique store and they would say, now my definite answer is go to pima for an associates in business and a bachelors at pima then move to university of Arizona to finish my business degree. at the beginning of this project my "dream" was a unattainable and unreachable thing with the knowledge I didn't have, but at the end of this project I know the steps id have to take in order to establish a stock/business

weekly reflection

this week I went to a couple different antiques store/ thrift stores you can call them , and mostly looking around to see what type of antiques there were and their prices. many of the items were in mid condition. and had there price lowered significantly because of it, it got me thinking about refurbishing items. the items I saw were old areound 70's +  but not that old, I was looking for more 20's or 30's art or items.

weekly reflection

my mom is in the post office and when I asked her about what it would take to set up with the postal service for someone to be able to got to a website and order a specific item and it will get pulled from a warehouse and shipped to wherever it needs to go while I did nothing. she said you would need to go to a local postal warehouse and develop a contract with them with my warehouse and there warehouse, and I need to have workers who will load a truck drive it to the ware house and that will do all of it as someone purchases items through the web.

weekly reflection
at the beginning of this project I started with minimum knowledge of where to start or what to do to begin a business. throughout this project the research have led me to understanding what is required to rent out a store|lot to start up, or establishing a stock of merchandise . the girl I interviewed said once you have enough antiques for show , like the really old ones people will come to buy and end up buying the less valuable one. with this I plan on understanding more about a website to set up with a delivery system so they can buy from anywhere at their fingertips.

interveiw questions

for my interview questions, im looking to find out if establishing a stock of antiques or any advice in buying or selling merchandise or where a better place to buy these items would be state-wise.
(talking to a local antiques dealer)
1.where would you advise is a better place/state to buy antiques or where the antique collectors auction merchandise off?
2.if the older the better what year do antiques aren't old enough?
3.what type of education/knowledge would be needed to know?
4.whats the best country/state/town/city to buy unordinary art and antiques?
5.in your expertise what era of art or a special antique item that has sold a lot recently?
6.whats your biggest cliental(age group)?
7.how long were you collecting antiques or gaining merchandise to have enough to stock a store, and people starting coming into sell or buy.

reflection

I finished the written proposal and now im working on the elevator pitch, which was a horrible idea for me to do. I've been looking into local antiques dealers and a lot of it is over the internet, such as emailing and sending pictures of the antiques or online bidding, certain websites have a q&a section but the questions I asked have been left unanswered mostly because the question are for unsoliciting services.
